What customers search for
These are the kinds of searches that bring landscapers and gardeners their calls. Your profile and your reviews decide who shows up.
- gardener near me
- garden maintenance [your town]
- patio installation [your town]
- tree surgeon near me
- lawn care and hedge trimming
When to ask for a review
For projects, ask when the work is finished and the garden looks its best, ideally with a photo to match. For regular customers, ask once, then not again every visit. A single request each year at most is plenty.
Set up your Google profile properly
- Pick the category that fits most of your work, such as Landscaper or Gardener, and add Tree service or Lawn care service if you offer them.
- List projects (patios, fencing, turfing, design) separately from maintenance (mowing, hedge trimming, clearance).
- Add dated seasonal photos. A garden in full summer bloom does more than a description.
- Keep your service area realistic. Travel time is your main cost, so be clear where you do and do not go.
- If you hold relevant qualifications or insurance, say so, but only claim what is accurate.

The wording asks for honest feedback and does not offer anything in return. That keeps you within Google's rules and UK consumer law. What you can and cannot ask.
One thing to avoid
Do not ask a regular customer every few weeks. One polite request, plus one reminder if they have not responded, respects them and keeps you within the rules.
Replying when it goes wrong
An example of a calm, specific reply for this trade:
Thank you for the feedback, [name]. I'm sorry we were late on the last two visits. I'd like to talk it through, so please call me on [number]. [Your name]
